The National Enquirer
For those of you who like to refer to the National Enquirer tabloid as opportunistic trash, you couldn’t possibly be more wrong with that theory.
The National Enquirer is a magazine that puts their sources to the test. They utilize tools such as background checks and polygraph tests (as well as everything in between) to make sure what they report is the truth. And, in my opinion, they are the only ones who have the balls to tell the truth.
Long before I contracted the National Enquirer, I had done two press releases for “You’ll Never Spa In This Town Again” and, nothing, no response. I was told John Travolta was too powerful and that main stream media wouldn’t touch it. The National Enquirer listened to me and had heard enough from other sources that it all fell into place from the moment I emailed them. They have stood beside me and treated me with respect from day one. After I passed a barrage of tests, including a polygraph, the story broke. Jerry George, the Senior Editor of the National Enquirer, and the Pulitzer Prize nominee who is also the senior writer for the National Enquirer, Rick Esqueda, have been genuinely and sincerely concerned with my safety. Obviously, it’s not all about selling magazines and the almighty dollar for them.
The National Enquirer has managed to get the truth out while also putting my book “You’ll Never Spa In This Town Again” on the map and I will forever be grateful to them for all they have done to assist me in my right to tell the truth.
And, for the record, everyone at the National Enquirer spoke and showed of how horrible they felt about this terribly thing John was doing to Kelly and what she was going through. Not one person was gloating with joy over her suffering. They all felt what any human would feel for a woman in such a position….compassion.
Be thankful in these times when so many politicians, celebrities, and public figures flat out lie. Be thankful that the National Enquirer has the courage to write the truth. Did you ever stop to think about how much they must go through with legal issues alone just to bring you the truth every week. You would think the truth would be a simple thing to tell Fighting off top-dollar high powered attorneys on a daily basis must be exhausting at best. Yet the Enquirer weathers it all to bring the truth to the people. Isn’t that what journalism is all about?
And for all those critics of the National Enquirer out there, I ask another question. Is it possibly the criticism is based upon one’s own inability to handle the truth? As for me, personally, I believe in and love the truth. I can handle all the truth anyone can give me. The fact that the Enquirer does it for entertainment in no way lessens the fact that it is, in fact, the truth.
So now the time has come for me to tell my story about my adventures into the secret gay spa sub-culture of the stars. And if you have a true shocking story you need to get off your chest, trust me, the National Enquirer is not like some claim. They are beyond caring and diligent at helping people bring their story to the light of day.
I strongly suggest if you have something to say, start with the National Enquirer. They will treat you with respect and, unless you prove differently, they treat you from day one that your story is true. When you have such a shocking book like “You’ll Never Spa In This Town Again” to tell and you are treated with respect, compassion, and an open ear it gives one the strength in knowing no matter how rough the road may be, it’s all worth it in the end. Because without the truth, we are walking in the dark. Instead of constant criticism and succumbing to our fears of retaliation, no matter how great they may be, we should all praise the National Enquirer for being that beacon of light in a world of darkness filled with lies and deceit.
